Marriage is the ideal God-given basis of family life and in particular because children learn what committed, loving relationships are all about through their experience of the commitment between their mother and father.
The Bible not only defines what marriage is but also teaches us how to build a marriage over a lifetime. Biblical principles for strong relationships are desperately needed and increasingly sought after in our society.
The aim of The Marriage Course is to enable married couples build a healthy marriage that will last a life time.
The course is weekly for seven weeks and during the sessions couples will find new things about themselves and each other. During each evening couples will have opportunities to talk about many different issues in a quiet, confidential and relaxed atmosphere. Many couples have learnt new skills in communicating and resolving conflict. Others have made changes to their lifestyles so as to continue to build and develop their marriage. The evenings are designed so that a couple’s privacy is always respected. There are no group sessions or sharing with anyone else other than your husband or wife.
The Marriage Course is for any couple who want to work together at what is the most important relationship - the one between husband and wife. Couples who have already attended the course have been married for just a few years to those who have been married for over thirty years. All the couples who have attended the course at New Life have stated that it has greatly enhanced their marriages and given them new skills to use to support each other in maintaining and building stronger marriages.The course is certainly beneficial and enjoyable for those whose marriage is strong. It will also help couples who are experiencing difficulties, as in a guided and constructive way it enables them to re-open communication channels.
