Acts:Restore

Many people living on our doorstep are on the edge of poverty, deprivation and despair. ACTS:RESTORE aims to empower people to bring improvement and a lasting change to their own lives. We aim to provide people with the right tools to rebuild their lives by offering a safe place for people, building trust, giving practical support and advice, signposting and mentoring.<

Projects currently include:

Energize

Christians Against Poverty - Debt - so easy to get into and yet so difficult to get out of! Being in debt can affect every area of peoples lives. Debt faces not only low income families but thousands of people from all walks of life. Christians Against Poverty offers a practical solution - preparing a budget that prioritises spending for food and essential bills, and negotiating with creditors to stop interest and charges. We are delighted to partner with Christians Against Poverty to run the Lincoln centre and money management courses in Lincoln and Grantham. Foodbank

Foodbank provides emergency food parcels for people who, for whatever reason, find themselves with empty shelves and no money to spend. Food is kindly donated by people from the local church community, from schools and through collections outside supermarket entrances. This food is then arranged into hampers to suit the requirements of the individuals and families in need. In the first 6 months of operations Foodbank, along with partners Lincoln Community Larder, helped over 1,000 people. Foodbank is a national initiative set up by the Trussell Trust.

Re:Route

Re:Route is a mentoring scheme set up in response to the needs identified by the Amigos team and guests. The trained team of mentors can help the mentee create realistic goals to move forward with their lives, such as getting back into work, enrolling on a course or improving their time management and self confidence.

Re:Route can help anyone in vulnerable situations such as ex-offenders, people struggling to find work, people who are homeless or just generally unhappy with the way things are going in their lives. Mentors assist the individuals in striving for an ultimate goal and then breaking this down into smaller objectives, so that what can initially seems like an unrealistic ambition becomes more practical to achieve.
